Kiwanis race for Boys & Girls Club with 5K Walk-a-thon

The La Mesa and Lake Murray Kiwanis Clubs united with Helix High School and Grossmont High Schools’ Key Clubs to raise money for the future Boys & Girls Clubs of East County Brady Family Clubhouse on April 5, by hosting a 5k walk-a-thon.

Bob Shultz, president of the La Mesa Kiwanis Club, said they hope to make the 5k walk-a-thon an annual event. Completion of the Brady Family Clubhouse is anticipated to open in 2016-17, with more than half of the $8.9 million raised so far.
