It is time to get ready for back-to-school and Parkway Plaza is hosting a fashion show to prepare students with the latest styles available. The event is in partnership with San Diego Mesa College’s fashion department and takes place Aug. 20 from 5-7 p.m. in center court. Along with a panel of beauty, fashion leaders and prizes, students from Mesa College will showcase the latest fashion from Parkway Plaza’s Forever 21, Tilly’s, JC Penny, Windsor, Eve’s Style, and Drama Kweens, a new locally owned store.
Parkway Plaza Marketing and Business Development Manager Petra Rich said Parkway is happy to bring back the fashion show this year.
“The fashion show will feature select looks from each participating store,” she said. “We will have men and women’s fashion looks available, as well as a few homecoming dresses that we are excited to be able to showcase.”
Rich said Miss San Diego Central 2022 Althea Valdez will hosting and helping emcee the event. She said Parkway said it will provide $5 gift cards for the first 50 guests, and throughout the show giving out gift cards with a large raffle at the end.
“We are looking forward to having everyone here,” she said. “We are going to have some selfie booths, a DJ, so it will be a fun and great experience, have a chance to win some back to school gear, some money for back to school shopping, and also supporting a local organization. We are working with some of Mesa College fashion department students, so we are really excited to help them gain some experience to bring this event to life and the experience of coordinating a fashion show from top to bottom.”
