CrossFit Santee is a local business that believes in empowering the community though education and providing positive choices that will benefit their health. They are one of the many local businesses participating in Lakeside Health Awareness Month this March, brought together by the East County non-profit organization California Health Network, to offer special free services and discounts to encourage the community to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Sen. Joel Anderson partnered with California Health Network to promote Lakeside Health Awareness Month and highlight the community service of the participating businesses. To express his gratitude to CrossFit Santee, Anderson provided them with a Senate Certificate of Recognition in honor of their dedication to improving the health and lives of East County residents.

"CrossFit Santee's dedication to educating our community on living a healthier, more active lifestyle is incredible. They are a fantastic example of how pursuing one's passion can enrich our community with one's talent and knowledge," said Anderson.

CrossFit Santee is passionate about spreading the message of living healthy to as many people as possible, which is why they are offering free training services during Health Awareness Month.

Ryan Oropallo, a co-owner and coach at CrossFit Santee said, "We're not in the business to make money necessarily, we're there to spread our passion, and make everything better to include the community. We let people come and train for free sometimes to kind of acclimate them."

One of the programs that CrossFit Santee specifically offers for teenagers called "Santeen" empowers younger members of the community to start off their lives with healthy habits and educates them on healthy choices they can make in the future. Oropallo also pointed out, "In any sport, in any philosophy, it starts with the youth because that is our future."
