The City of El Cajon is hosting San Diego County’s largest National Night Out event on Aug. 6 at Parkway Plaza from 5-9 p.m. This annual event strengthens police-community partnerships, neighborhood unity, and is expected to draw thousands from El Cajon and surrounding Areas.

“National Night Out is a pivotal part of our community efforts,” said El Cajon Police Department Police Chief Michael Moulton in a city press release. “It’s a fantastic opportunity to strengthen our relationships with residents and showcase the dedication of our law enforcement teams. We’re thrilled to welcome everyone to Parkway Plaza for an evening of fun, learning, and community spirit.”

This year’s National Night Out theme is “The Cops Are Throwing a Party and Everyone’s Invited.” The event guarantees an action-packed evening with the El Cajon Police Department, alongside other partner agencies like the California Highway Patrol and the United States Border Patrol, with a series of exciting activities and demonstrations. The event is free and open to the public, sponsored by local businesses in El Cajon. Comprehensive safety and security measures will be in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

“This event underscores the unity and strength of our community. It is inspiring to see how residents and law enforcement come together to celebrate and reinforce our commitment to safety and cooperation,” said El Cajon Mayor Bill Wells.

Delana Bennett from Star 94.1 will emcee the evening, ensuring a dynamic and entertaining atmosphere. BetaMaxx, San Diego’s favorite 80’s cover band, will perform live from 5-9 p.m. and, while Ninja Nation brings their famous Ninja obstacle course all the way from Denver, CO. Local businesses will join in the festivities, offering a variety of arts and crafts projects throughout the night.

“We’re proud to host the largest National Night Out celebration in San Diego County,” added Moulton. “This event highlights our dedication to making El Cajon a safer, more connected community. We look forward to seeing everyone come together to celebrate and strengthen the bonds that make our city unique.”
