The City of Santee received the Government Finance Officers Association for the United States and Canada’s Certificate for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ended June 30,2022. This is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting representing significant accomplishments by a government and its management.
“Transparency is important to the City of Santee,” said Finance Director and City Treasurer Heather Jennings in a press release. “The Finance Department strives to carry out our fiscal responsibilities with accountability, professionalism, and integrity. We appreciate the acknowledgment for all the hard work that goes into the preparation of the ACFR.”
The City’s report was judged by and impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
