True, college is not for everyone, and by no means should it be. But, college can provide a myriad of opportunities much harder to attain without a degree. Graduates from college, more often than not, have more freedom in the workplace. They have more flexible work hours, benefits, and opportunities for promotions than non-college graduates. Also, salaries increase as the employee’s education increases. College graduates are less likely to be unemployed and have more control over their career choice.

Understandably, many young adults are not considering college, as they are not sure what future they would like to pursue. Yet college is not only for those who have determined their future path, but also for those unsure of their interests. The resources of colleges are far greater than those available elsewhere. Universities offer a wide range of classes spanning many interests and internship opportunities that help students discover their path. Generally, the first two years of university consist of more general classes to allow students to determine their passions. These passions may not be discovered without the college educational experience.

Many students may have heard all this before, but college can mean so much more. College gives students the opportunity to grow and transition into adulthood. Higher education enables people to affect not only their own personal world, but also the world around them through a professional career.

All you need to do is set a course for those goals.
