California State Senator Joel Anderson (R-Alpine) received the Chuck Nichols & Pierre Frazier Bridge Builder Award from the USS Midway Museum's Diversity & Inclusion Committee today at the Sixth Annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Luncheon.

St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center (SMSC) will partner with The Marine Room to host Tea by the Sea on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 11:00 AM – 2:30 PM. Tea by the Sea will feature complimentary champagne and a signature cocktail, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, live music and a visit from The Marine Room’s Executive Chef Bernard. The imaginative cuisine is more than matched by the up-close view of the surf.

The Mission Trails Regional Park Foundation (MTRP) is pleased to present a Fine Art Exhibition featuring eight award winning artists: Joey Edwards, Sandro Giacomangeli, Ralph Kingery, Anna Kirkland, India La Motte, Glenn Osga, Jerry Vande Berg, and Mary Anita Winklea.

This exhibit will be on display in the Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor Center Art Gallery Jan. 6 - 30, 2018. The public is cordially invited to a reception in honor of the artists on Sunday, January 14, 2018, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Senator Joel Anderson’s final Holiday Legislative Open House was held at the Toyota of El Cajon on Tuesday, Dec. 12 and was filled with his constituents, local organizations, and community leaders. Anderson represents District 38 in the California State Senate, which consists of San Diego’s East County, and parts of North County.

With another holiday season upon us, I Love A Clean San Diego (ILACSD) and the County of San Diego have once again joined together to encourage residents to recycle their Christmas trees in efforts to minimize the amount of waste sent to the landfill. You can put your tree to better use through recycling!
