I have felt this pain, this melancholic feeling, makes me want to scream and cry for days, stay in bed forever.

No it is not depression. Though I thought about it; it is not sadness, though she joins in sometimes. Her name is grief.

I thought I did not know grief, but it turns out we have been friends for a long time now. I just had to put the name to the feeling.

Grief calls me at least once a week to remind me of my daddy issues.

When I was I high school, I thought I was depressed but thankfully I have never met depression. I met sadness and grief.

Losing friendships can cause you more hurt than you think. At first, you might be happy you stopped talking to that annoying friend, but friendships began for a reason. We meet new people daily, but they are not all friend material.

Closure and trust are the main factors that sustain a friendship.

The lack of closure will be noticeable as time goes by. We realize that we lost something worth it when it is gone. It is in our nature.

Don’t wait until Earth Day, save our home now!

In a world that fills itself with trash, plants and lets nature die, our earth is dying. Our Mother Earth is dying.

Contamination is expanding and we are not doing enough to fight back. Reducing the amount of trash we make will benefit the earth by tons. There are an estimated 269,000 tons of plastic trash at sea, according to the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) 2013 study.

SeaWorld is still attempting to rebrand after their image was ruined by the documentary “BlackFish.” 

BlackFish was directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite and released on July 19, 2013. The film follows the story of Tilikum, an orca who was held captive at SeaWorld Orlando and died in 2017, still in captivity. The purpose of the documentary was to show the ‘dark side’ of SeaWorld. Killer whales should not be in tanks but set free in the ocean. 

As we become adults we must begin thinking of ourselves first. Taking care of yourself and being mindful of what is happening around you is something we often forget to do.

We get so wrapped up working on a project that we lose sight of ourselves.

When I am working, I often forget to drink water or even go to the bathroom. There are always things to do, and procrastinating on self-care can lead to an unhealthy lifestyle.

Imagine if we did everything out of love, out of pureness. How would that change our world, would it be the same or extremely different? We won’t know until we try.

We tend to think of love and objectify it, sexualize it. Love is much more than sex.

We tend to confuse love with lust and infatuation.

We tend to do many things, and sometimes we forget to love.

Veganism has become a popular lifestyle. You are helping your community become cleaner by making the first step, a vegan meal. Veganism is not for everyone, some people love meat and that is their story, their lifestyle. If you have considered becoming vegan you should give it a try! Cooking is a lot of fun when you are making some delicious food that you know is harming no one. 

My mom taught me that crying is a weak alert to the brain. That crying makes your immune system weaker, since it is linked to sadness and negative connotations such as depression. I held back from crying because I did not want to disappoint her. I make my own decisions now and regret this one the most. 

Whenever she sees me crying she asks whether it was a sad cat video or a serious situation. Her reaction will depend on my answer. 

Anxiety and I met in high school, she would visit me every once in a while depending on the circumstances. She was annoying but nothing I could not handle. She left me for a while and I thought I would never hear from her again. 

Being grateful is the key to life. The more grateful we become, the less we need. The less we want because we already have a lot. We have health, shelter, close relationships. What else can we ask for?
